Are email appending and ECOA CAN-SPAM compliant?
FreshAddress's services are 100% CAN-SPAM compliant, and we offer secure, private services. Our senior managers actively participate on DMA Council for Responsible Email Appending and Email Delivery Committees, which helped set industry standards for email appending and delivery practices. Our President is also an appointed member of the Direct Marketing Association's Committee for Social Responsibility.

How does FreshAddress have such a large email database?
We source our proprietary data through 1) our own consumer email change of address website, and 2) licenses with hundreds of consumer websites such as mortgage sites, travel sites, gaming sites, free email sites, etc.  All FreshAddress data is 100% opted-in (volunteered) information, with date/time/source stamp.  In addition to our own proprietary data, we source supplemental data from our carefully-screened data partners. 

What factors will affect my match rate?
Your final match rate depends on a number of factors, including the size of your database, the demographics of your list (e.g. a database of 25 year-olds will yield more opt-in matches than a database of 80 year-olds), whether it's a first-time or repeat job, match type (ex. household vs. individual) and match logic (ex. last name vs. "resident").

Is my list safe with you?
Yes!  We only use your list to perform our services and for absolutely no other purpose.

The trust of our clients and our consumers is an absolute necessity to the viability and growth of our business, and we treat every piece of information we receive as carefully as if it were our own.

FreshAddress complies with the CAN-SPAM law and all applicable privacy policies published by the DMA. We believe that the privacy rights of individuals are of paramount importance in every service we perform. We have developed our processes for building and updating our clients’ databases so as to ensure that these rights are protected at all times. We consistently use the following general operational rules:

  • We only perform appending and ECOA for clients who warrant to us that they have a previous business relationship with their customers and members.
  • All of the data we match against is 100% opted-in with permission to send third-party offers.
  • We send all matches a permission message on behalf of our clients to insure their customers'/members' permission to receive email from them.
  • Every email we send contains an opt-out provision.
  • We manage the opt-out process from these sends and provide the opt-outs back to our clients so they can be sure not to message these customers/members in the future.
  • Our client contracts require that every subsequent email that is sent from the client will also contain an opt-out provision so the customer has, at all times, the ability to choose between receiving or not receive communications.

Behind the scenes, we also take a number of physical and electronic precautions to restrict access to data.
